OBITUARY
(Sarah "Phylena") from THE NEWTON RECORD, Newton, Jasper County, Iowa, January 10, 1896:

Murphy -- Died, at her home in Natoma, Kansas, on November 21, 1895, Mrs. Phylena Gregory of cancer of the stomach. Mrs. Gregory is a sister of John H. [should be "S" --DeeAnna] Allum of Kellogg and Mrs. Ira Fugard of Murphy. She leaves two sisters and a brother in Pennsylvania; a brother A. K. Allum in East Lynn, Mo.; a husband and nine children survive her. She was 55 years, 9 months and 4 days old.
