bullet  General Notes:

Tintype: Ellisabeth (Supler) Allum, 1811-1893 (see note below)

Original tintype gifted to ALLUM in 2008 by Ruby Guessford Temple

Previously on this personal page for Ellisabeth Supler Allum was a photo presumed -- but questioned -- to be Ellisabeth. The emergence in 2008 of this tintype, passed down in the family of John Supler Allum, confirms that the other photo is indeed Ellisabeth. It can be seen on a subsequent page.

This tintype -- in excellent condition and stunningly clear -- preserves Ellisabeth's image as she appeared sometime through the years. Might it have been created in the 1860s when tintypes were popular? In the 1860s, Ellisabeth would have been in her fifties. It could even have been created in the early 1870s when Ellisabeth was in her sixties.

Also among images originally belonging to John Supler Allum are tintypes of John himself ... his wife, Elisabeth (Loar) Allum ... their young daughter Hester ... and their young son James.

Ellisabeth married Jonathan ALLUM, son of John ALLUM 1st and Sarah RAPER, on June 22, 1837 in (Probably) Greene County, Pennsylvania. (Jonathan ALLUM was born on January 16, 1817 in Greene County, Pennsylvania, died on March 5, 1889 in Richhill Township, Greene County, Pennsylvania and was buried in Enon Cemetery, Richhill Township, Greene County, Pennsylvania.)
