OBITUARY (Nancy) from WAYNESBURG REPUBLICAN, Waynesburg, Greene County, Pennsylvania, December 29, 1880:

NANCY CUMMINS

Died at her residence in Richhill township, Greene county, Pa., Dec. 21st, 1880, Mrs. Nancy, wife of John Cummins, dec'd, aged 84 years. Mrs. Cummins, whose maiden name was Teagarden, was a sister of Isaac Teagarden who, sixty years ago was sheriff of Greene county, and aunt of Isaac Teagarden of this place. She was born Dec. 18, 1796, the year Greene county was organized, on the old Teagarden homestead, adjoining the farm on which her married life of over sixty years has been spent. More than forty years since she united with the C. P. Church being one of the original members of the congregation now known as Windy Gap. During the later years of her life the pastor held stated services at the school house near or at her home. On Friday, 21st just, her birthday, she walked to and from the residence of her daughter (Mrs. Houston), a distance of a half mile, and was in her usual health until Sunday when she was stricken down and died on the following Tuesday. The last of a long line of old settlers, connecting the last (sic) with the present century. She was a dignified lady of the olden time, respected and loved by a large circle of relatives and friends. Four surviving children, together with grand children and great grand children and neighbors who had known her half a century, followed her to the grave where five generations of her people lie side by side in the family burying grounds.

John married Agnes "Nancy" TEAGARDEN, daughter of William TEAGARDEN and Bethia CRAIG. (Agnes "Nancy" TEAGARDEN was born on December 18, 1796 in Greene County, Pennsylvania, died on December 21, 1880 in (Probably) Greene County, Pennsylvania and was buried in Teagarden Cemetery, Ackley Farm, Wheeling Creek, Greene County, Pennsylvania.)
