General Notes:
Signature: Shirley Allum Hudlicky and I immediately thought Clarrisa's middle name was "Ione" based upon her signature on this 1898 document from her husband Harrison's Civil War pension file, but she is documented "Clarrisa J. Frazee" on her 1868 marriage certificate. Years later, she is "Clara J." in the 1910 South Dakota census, but "Clarrisa I." on the family monument in Highland Park Cemetery!
Because the middle initial "I' for Clarrisa is part of the engraved cemetery inscription for Harrison and Clarrisa's daughter Minnie -- who preceded her mother in death in 1901 -- I believe "I" for "Ione" to be accurate. Clarrisa likely provided her own initial for the maker of the monument.

1848 BIRTH of Clarrisa Ione Frazee ("Clara")
Clarrisa's mother, Catherine Frazee, died in 1849. In 1850 and 1860, Clarrisa is in a Howard household. Perhaps Clarrisa's mother Catherine and Elizabeth M. Howard had been sisters. At the time of her mother Catherine's death, Clarrisa was the youngest child with five elder siblings.
1850 CENSUS, Iowa, Johnson County, Monroe Township ("Clarissa Frazee," age 1, is in the Elizabeth M. Howard household)
1860 CENSUS, Iowa, Benton County, Lee Roy Township, Pickaway ("Clarise" Frazee, age 12, is in the household of Joel and Elizabeth Howard)
