1870 CENSUS, Pennsylvania, Washington County, East Finley Township, Claysville (Is "Pheoba M., born 1860 in Iowa"--documented in the household of James and Rebecca Sermon Allum in the 1870 census--the daughter of Thomas and Matilda Allum shown as "Martha" in the 1860 census? Thomas lost his first wife Matilda in Iowa in 1863. Also in the James Allum household in 1870 was Delila, daughter of Isaac Allum who, like Thomas, lost his first wife Lucinda in Iowa. It is known with certainty that Isaac's daughter Delila (born in Iowa) was reared by James and Rebecca Sermon Allum in Pennsylvania.
