General Notes:
Photo: A close-up of the large monument with engraving pertaining to Joseph Seaman and his wife "documents in stone" her given name as Bertha instead of Bethia. "Bethia" is the name provided on pages 346 and 347 in the book GENEALOGICAL AND BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCHES OF DESCENDANTS OF ABRAHAM TEAGARDEN, From Arrival in America, Including European Background, by Helen Elizabeth Vogt, published 1967. In fact, among her descendants are at least two females named "Bethia." I HAD used Bethia in this online file then found her name "Bertha" in census documents--except for year 1860 in which she is "Bethya." Thus, "the preponderance" is BERTHA. The stone is in Oakdale Memorial Gardens in Davenport, Scott County, Iowa.
