Document: Among children Charles named in his will was his daughter Delila, whose married surname was Cumpston. Delila and her husband, Solomon Cumpston, had migrated from Washington County, Pennsylvania--where they appear as a married couple in census records of 1850 and 1860--to Livingston County, Illinois.

Delila preceded her father in death, passing on in January, 1868 and he, in April, 1868. Charles' youngest child, son Porter Allum, died approximately six weeks after his father, in May, 1868. Thus, the Allum family experienced three deaths within the first six months of the year.
