Earl died at the U. S. Veteran's Hospital in Portland, Oregon and is buried in Lincoln Memorial Park in Portland on a Veteran's plot, Lot J, Grave 106. His gravestone reads, "Earl Allum, Minnesota, Pvt. Camp Hospital 27, September 13, 1926"

Cause of death: "Broncho-pneumonia" --obituary in OREGON JOURNAL and OREGONIAN

After Earl's death in 1926, his wife Laurell remarried to a Mr. Scott who resided at Durkee, Baker County, Oregon.
