Brooch - Front Clifford Destin McQUIE

Brooch (Front): Clifford Destin McQuie became the caretaker of this brooch that was brought to America by an ancestor. Might it have crossed the ocean with Clifford's widowed grandmother, Clara (Distin) McQuie (later Clara Meredith)?

It is a "mourning brooch" with finely braided hair on the back. (See the following page in this online file.)
