Keith Allum Guessford was born October 2, 1892 at Kellogg, Iowa. Outside of farming he chose "machinist" for his vocation in which he was very successful. He was honored with his mother's maiden name (Allum). He was married at Rock Island November 11, 1913 to Miss Laura Metz born at Duluth, Minnesota May 14, 1888. They had four daughters, including one set of triplets, one of them passing away the same day and another in three months.

Keith married Laura Mary METZ, daughter of Frank M. METZ and Mary METZ, on November 11, 1913 in Rock Island, Rock Island County, Illinois. (Laura Mary METZ was born on May 14, 1888 in Duluth, St. Louis County, Minnesota and died on April 6, 1949 in El Dorado, El Dorado County, California.)
