bullet  General Notes:

Death Certificate: As previously stated, not all information on a death certificate is accurate, including the document for Albert Allum. Even though data was provided by his unmarried elder sister, Mary Olive Allum, Albert's middle initial here is "L.," differing from his own signature on his World War One Draft Registration ("Albert Parker Allum"). His own information on his Registration provides "January, 9, 1877" as his date of birth -- corroborated by census records and his father's Civil War pension file -- yet is "1879" on his death certificate. Nevertheless, certificates are excellent guidelines for additional research and are genealogically valuable.
