"An uncle who lived in Alhambra, California had a book with Counihan Clan information."


Recent research would indicate the uncle to have been William S. Counihan --DeeAnna







According to the 1900 CENSUS, William was born in April, 1864, but his mother died in October, 1863

Was Hedwig's year of birth 1869 or 1870? According to California death records, her mother's maiden name was "Kunert." However, the maiden name of her brother-in-law Michael's wife, Mary Martha Counihan, is shown as "Cunard." The women were sisters with one of the two surnames being correct.
