Hannah's immigrant ancestor was Griffith Jones who had been born in 1736 in Bettws Parish, Glamorganshire, Wales.

"Griffith Jones died intestate before 1800 seized with five tracts of land situated in Greene and Washington Counties to which warrants were granted about 1785 to ' Griffith Jones, 400 acres; Thomas Davis, 400 acres; Samuel Davis, 400 acres; Thomas Jones, 400 acres; and Samuel McClellan, 400 acres.'

"He left five children, namely Griffith, Jr.; Thomas L.; Samuel; Isaac; and Elizabeth. Elizabeth married James Withy. Samuel died unmarried. Isaac sold all of his interest in the above lands to Griffith, Jr. in March, 1800. Elizabeth also sold her interest to Griffith, Jr.

"Thomas L. died about 1819 in Williston, Chester County, Pennsylvania, leaving five children, namely Hannah; Samuel P.; George W.; Thomas J.; and Rebecca, all minors. John C. Kelsey was appointed their guardian. Hannah married Thomas Sermon. A daughter of this union married James Allum. they had two children, Sarah Jane and Peninah. Peninah married Silas Ealy. Sarah Jane married James M. Swart."

Hannah married Thomas SERMON. (Thomas SERMON was born in 1794, died on April 16, 1848 in Greene County, Pennsylvania and was buried in Leslie-Jones Cemetery (Removed To Enon Cemetery In 1981).)
