Postcard: This postcard postmarked "May 7, 1909" is captioned "Headquarters, Iowa Soldiers' Home, Marshalltown, Iowa." The black wavy lines across the top of the souvenir card originated with the Ames, Iowa post office from which it was mailed. Mordecai Smith died at the Soldiers' Home in 1906.
