ALLUM-BREWER

Harry Allum, teacher of the Supler school in Richhill township, and Miss Orpha Brewer of Richhill township were quietly married last Tuesday while Mr. Allum was attending county institute in Waynesburg. Mr. Allum is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. H. Allum, and the bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Brewer, all of Richhill township. The parents were not consulted previous to the marriage, but the young couple were extended a reception at the home of the bride Friday evening.

OBITUARY (Orpha) from WAYNESBURG REPUBLICAN, Waynesburg, Greene County, Pennsylvania, April 24, 1913:


MRS. HARRY ALLUM

Mrs. Harry Allum died at her home in Richhill township, Monday, April 21. She was a daughter of John Brewer and beside her husband is survived by her parents and two sisters. The young couple had been married only about six months and her death causes much sorrow in the community of Burdette, where she lived.




OBITUARY
(Orpha) from an undocumented 1913 newspaper:

Waynesburg, April 23--Mrs. Orpha Allum, wife of Harry Allum, a well-known school teacher, died at her home near Burdette Tuesday morning. She had been ill since Sunday evening. Mrs. Allum was 18 years of age and had been married but a few months. Beside her husband, she leaves her parents, Mrs. and Mrs. John Brewer, of near Graysville, and two sisters, Alma and Frances Brewer, at home. She was a member of the Unity Presbyterian church at Graysville. Short services were held today at the Burdette home, the services being in charge of the Rev. A. R. Rush. Funeral services will be held at the home of the parents Thursday morning at 10 o'clock. Interment will be at Wind Ridge.
