OBITUARY (Rose) from THE DAILY TIMES, Davenport, Iowa, November 20, 1957:


MRS. CHARLES ALLUM

Mrs. Charles Allum, 61, of 3631 Orchard Ave., Davenport, died at 8:55 a.m. today in Mercy Hospital after a brief illness.

The former Rose McLaughlin was born Sept. 30, 1891 (the year is incorrect--DeeAnna), in Dodgeville, Iowa. She attended schools in Burlington and the Burlington Business College. She was married to Mr. Allum July 3, 1918, in Centerville. She had been employed as a secretary to the K&A Truck Lines, Inc., Bettendorf. Mrs. Allum was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society there and the Eagles Auxiliary, No. 235.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 8:30 a.m. in the Runge Chapel and at 9 a.m. in St. Alphonsus Church. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park.

The Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
