Genealogy: THE EDMINSTER FAMILY IN AMERICA by Frank Custer Edminster, Jr. was published in 1965. Page 126 documents George M. and his wife Grace "Alumin." Another creative spelling, Grace's surname was Allum, the widow of Louis Rex Allum upon her marriage to George Morris Edminster. Merle is referred to as a son in this passage but, in fact, was the daughter of Grace and "Rex" Allum.
