OBITUARY (Daniel) from WAYNESBURG REPUBLICAN, Waynesburg, Greene County, Pennsylvania, August 13, 1931:


DANIEL P. STROPE

Daniel P. Strope, a well known farmer, who had resided hear Avella, Pa., for twelve years, died Thursday, August 6, aged 60 years. His death was due to complications. He was born in Greene county, March 17, 1872. Mr. Strope was a member of the I.O.O.F. lodge at Elderville. Beside his wife, Mrs. Olive Mitchell Strope, the following children survive: Russell Strope, of Rennerdale; Mrs. Ethyl Brookman, of Pittsburgh; Arthur Strope, and Mrs. Nellie Hall, of Avella; William, Edna, Harold, Ralph, Ray and Woodrow Strope, all at home. There are seven grandchildren. The funeral services were Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. Paul Hazlett, pastor of the First Presbyterian church of Avella.
