The funeral service, which was very largely attended, was held in Enon Baptist church--long her church home--at two o'clock, Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. N. E. Schindler. Interment was in Enon cemetery.
Mrs. Ealy was a daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Allum Frye, long deceased, one of a family of eleven children, of whom one brother, John I. Frye, of Washington (PA) survives. She was united in marriage with Mr. Ealy, Feb. 21 (sic),1878. His death occurred about five years ago. To their union were born the following children: Eliza Ealy, Kathryn Ealy, Charles Ealy, of Claysville; Thomas Ealy, of Time; George Ealy, of East Finley; Harry Ealy, of Claysville R.D., Mrs. Lydia Newland, of Gabby Heights, and Mrs. Wilma Clutter, who, with her family, resided in the old home with her mother. There also are 36 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Harley Porter, a nephew, was given a home and loving care in his childhood by his "Aunt Martha," whom he always spoke of in the highest terms of praise.
Early in life Mrs. Ealy gave her heart to Jesus and united with Enon Baptist church. She was a consistent member throughout her entire life.
Death has claimed another victim, One we loved so well; Yet we know within our hearts, She does well with her Saviour dwell.
Another friend has gone before us To that heavenly land. We can never find another In thy place to stand.
She has left this world of trouble And the ills of earthly life, Nevermore to know of sorrow; Nevermore to know of strife.
'Tis hard to break the tender cord When love has bound the heart-- So hard, so hard, to speak the words "We must forever part.'
But again we hope to meet her When the cares of life have fled; Then in Heaven with joy to greet her Where no farewell tears are shed.
