GEORGE W. FUNK DIED AFTER LONG ILLNESS AT WEST ALEXANDER HOME
West Alexander, Nov. 9. - George Washington Funk, aged 81 years, died at his home near here this afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. He had been in failing health for several months as a result of a complication of diseases. Mr. Funk was born in Greene county and lived there for a long period. For the past 12 years he had resided in this section.
The following children survive: David M. Funk, Wellsburg, W. Va.; Fred O. Funk, Los Angeles, Cal.; T. H. Funk, Fairmor, W. Va.; Mrs. Mary Allum, Washington; Mrs. Viva Fonner, Mrs. Charles Hunt, and Mrs. Harold Westfall, of West Alexander.
Funeral services will be held at the Funk home Monday evening at 7 o'clock in charge of Rev. Earl Thompson. Tuesday morning the remains will be taken to Enon, Greene county, for interment.
George married Sarah RUSH on October 11, 1862 in Greene County, Pennsylvania. (Sarah RUSH was born on January 13, 1844, died on May 2, 1895 in Greene County, Pennsylvania and was buried in Enon Cemetery, Richhill Township, Greene County, Pennsylvania.)
