"John was an avid sportsman--hunting and fishing--and was well known for his knowledge and techniques for those sports. He was a big man--well over 200 pounds and over 6 feet tall. He had been employed at Benicia Arsenal in Benicia, California, but later transferred to Tooele Army Depot, Tooele, Utah, where he retired."
