1900 CENSUS, Iowa, Jasper County, Buena Vista Township (widow "Elizabeth," age 56, born "May, 1845," "Farmer") (Elizabeth is documented as the mother of 8 children, all 8 children living in the year 1900)
1910 CENSUS, Iowa, Jasper County, Kellogg Township, Kellogg ("Elisabeth," age 63, widow, "Own Income") (she would have been age 67 and, in fact, the handwriting on the census may be a shaky "7" instead of the "3" transcribed) (Once again, Elizabeth is shown as the mother of 8 children, all 8 children living in the year 1910)

DEMISE OF A GOOD MAN
Joshua Binford Hill, son of Robert and Lydia Hill, was born at Carthage, Hancock county, Indiana, February 8, 1839. He moved to Iowa at the age of thirteen and has lived in this neighborhood since that time.
On the 9th of February, 1865 he was married to Elizabeth Stanley, who survives him. He died at his home in Buena Vista township, Jasper county, Iowa, January 18, 1900, aged 60 years 11 months and 21 days.
He was the father of eight children, all of whom are living and were present during his last hours.
He was a man of conscientious religious principles, honest and upright in all his dealings. An indulgent father, a faithful friend, a kind neighbor, and in his large and successful business a frequent employer, never exacting over time or hesitating to return prompt payment for service rendered.
His funeral took place from his well known residence southwest of Kellogg on Saturday, January 20, 1900. A large company was present evidencing the sympathy of the community with the bereaved family.
The services were conducted by Rev. B. G. Nevill, pastor of the Friends church, assisted by Rev. F. W. Collins, and the remains were laid to rest in the Slagel burial ground where his father and mother were buried.
