OBITUARY (James) from an undocumented newspaper:


James McLaughlin

WAPELLO--James Dominic McLaughlin, 83, died in Mercy hospital, Burlington, Wednesday night.

He was the son of John and Mary Flaherty McLaughlin and was born near Dodgeville on Feb. 25, 1878. He was married to Orpha Stevens on Jan. 24, 1906. She died Dec. 23, 1962.

Mr. McLaughlin was the last of a family of seven brothers and three sisters, including John M. (Jack) McLaughlin of Burlington, long-time district court reporter. He left no immediate survivors.

He homesteaded at Winner, S. Dak., as a young man settling in Wapello 13 years ago.

Services: St. Mary church Saturday at 10. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 Friday at the Dudgeon-McCulley funeral home. Burial will be in the Wapello cemetery.

James married Orpha Anna STEVENS, daughter of Nathaniel Ewing STEVENS and Harriet DOTSON, on January 24, 1906. (Orpha Anna STEVENS was born on January 13, 1881 in Louisa County, Iowa, died on December 28, 1962 in Louisa County, Iowa and was buried in Wapello Cemetery, Wapello, Louisa County, Iowa.)
