1895 DEATH, Charles Allum, at approximately 55 years

Charles died at the Poor Farm in Jasper County, Iowa, his age estimated at 48 years, nationality "Irish." Charles' burial location is Lot 9 in Slagel Cemetery, Buena Vista Township, but he has no marker or stone.

DEATH ANNOUNCEMENT (Charles) from THE NEWTON RECORD, Newton, Jasper County, Iowa, September 27, 1895:


Charley Allum, the insane man at the poor house whose illness is described in the foregoing article, died last evening about six o'clock. The body will be buried by friends and relatives.


Also:

"Murphy Charley Allum, the insane victim who was murderously struck by another crazy man last week, died at the poor farm Thursday night and was buried Friday evening in the Hixon Grove Cemetery."
